Swords, Knives & Daggers reeled in MadFish Solutions for email marketing, a website redesign, conversion optimization, and SEO. We were excited to dive in and catch more customers, and with such unique products to offer, we knew we could boost sales with the proper strategy.
SKD has been around for more than 11 years, and their website showed it. Its design had tried to keep up but it was failing. They came to MadFish with a desire to increase conversion rates and provide the best user experience they could to stand out amongst the crowd.
The old website for Swords, Knives & Daggers had a tricky checkout process and was not optimized to show up high in Google search results. Potential customers would visit the Swords, Knives & Daggers website and would add items to their carts, but they would not follow through to purchase the items.
MadFish built a fully customized website in 3DCart for Swords, Knives & Daggers with a focus on streamlining the checkout process to improve conversion rates. Since 60% of their web traffic and orders come from phones, their website was designed from the beginning to be 100% mobile friendly. We redesigned the navigation to make it easier for customers to find the products they needed.
Our SEO strategy involved removing HTML errors on the backend, creating category landing pages, and starting an aggressive link building strategy. We increased the number of inbound links from 29,000 to over 200,000 with a combination of social bookmarks, high domain authority sites, directory submissions, and guest posts.
For email marketing, we designed effective templates to simplify email marketing campaign creation which allowed Swords, Knives & Daggers to build a strategy around content and cadence of the emails. The goal was to encourage their existing customers to buy more inventory (and buy more often).
The new, optimized Swords, Knives & Daggers website caused a steady increase in conversions with more people visiting the site and users spending more money per transaction.
From January to March 2019 alone:
- Transactions up 104.12%
- Revenue up 108.69%
- Revenue per user up 67.86%
- Conversion Rate up 57.18%
- Visitors up 36.72%
As a result the customer has experienced holiday season sales in what was typically the slowest time of the year. As with all of our customers we worked to focus on helping SKD grow beyond it's expectations.
